The Great Dublin Bike Ride

On the morning of September 13th thousands of cyclists and supporters alike took over Dublin’s city centre. The Great Dublin Bike Ride, the first cycling event of its kind to happen in Dublin was an outstanding success with over 3,000 cyclists taking part. Starting from Smithfield Square, cyclists continued onto Arran Quay where they progressed along one of the two specifically designed routes for the event.

Along the route, cyclists took in the views of well-known landmarks such as Bull Island Bridge, Malahide Harbour, Portmarnock Coast, National Sports Council and Dublin Airport. The Great Dublin Bike Ride was an initiative by the Irish Sports Council, who worked in conjunction with Cycling Ireland and Dublin City Council as well as the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, Healthy Ireland, Fingal County Council and Meath County Council to make it happen.

Titan Experience contacted The Printed Image in regards to branded materials for the event itself. After working together and combining both areas of expertise, three different options were decided upon and provided:

• Bicycle seat covers

• Water Bottles

• Drawstring Rucksacks

Each piece of merchandise was branded accordingly as well as keeping the themed colours a main focus. As The Printed Image have never been ones to shy away from projects such as this, they were excited to work in close correlation with Titan Experience, ensuring the highest quality merchandise was provided. These Items were not only of use for those participating on the day but they also act as keepsakes from the event itself.

Branded merchandise can keep an event and business relevant in the recipient’s mind for months, even years to come. They are extremely useful for any event you may have coming up. The Great Dublin Bike Ride was a huge success with over 30 counties being represented on the day. The age categories and nationalities present were vastly ranging and it was an incredibly successful initiative from all parties involved in the planning and execution. The Printed Image were delighted to be a part of this monumental festival in the heart of Dublin City.
